Collection: Susann Taylor
Susann Taylor has a site-responsive practice that spans performative and ephemeral installation-based works. Selecting sites that occupy the frayed edges of culture as a starting point, Taylor's work asks how space is inhabited in response to intense physical or emotional experiences, such as grief, incarceration or impending death. Taylor maps these somatic, spatial and societal terrains using ritual, endurance, sound, bodily movement and installation, the lasting evidence of which often only exists in fragments, traces or memory.
