Kim combines experiments with mixed media and mark-making techniques to create intriguing abstract and tactile artworks. In her 2022 body of work, ‘Beyond the Frame’, Kim transforms the original function of the frame from decoration and status, to become an integral part of the work as she manipulates found and vintage frames through intuitive mark-making and assemblage. Kim works predominantly with acrylic paint, inks and a myriad of discarded and industrial objects.
