Cameron Hillier is an emerging mixed media artist, practicing on Gadigal land in Sydney. While working in a variety of practices ranging from painting to textiles, Cameron's work mainly revolves around sculpture. His works engages with balancing chance elements with predetermined construction systems. Using waste materials and found objects he reconstitutes these materials in an attempt to create new sculptural forms, transforming the surface into a patchwork grid pattern. He aims to challenge the viewer to see images and patterns in his works that are unintentional and are derived from the unintentional marks from the history of the object.
