Beatrice Weidner is a Sydney-based contemporary artist working with print media, focusing mainly on mokulito (woodblock lithography) and mono-printing techniques. As an avid bushwalker and traveller, her artwork is inspired by nature in all its forms and occurrences. Weidner’s principal practice consists of documenting the events of her life in a small sketchbook. Some of these sketches she facilitates into extended artworks. The images reflect present issues and environmental concerns but also consider archival memories. Weidner uses various media to create atmospheric, expressive work and experiments with unusual material combinations, which result in unique outcomes.
